About Us

OUR STORY

WHERE OUR JOURNEY BEGAN

Shine Through Autism was born from a deeply personal understanding of the journey families can face when supporting a child with autism or special needs. Our foundation is built on compassion, lived family experience and the belief that no family should have to navigate that journey alone

What began with a desire to create greater understanding has grown into a commitment to supporting children, young people, parents and carers through awareness, inclusion, practical guidance and community connection. We want every family that reaches us to feel welcomed, respected and understood.

Our work brings together lived experience, advocacy and community support to help create environments where children and young people are recognised for their strengths and abilities—not defined by their challenges.

Today, Shine Through Autism is building connections across the United Kingdom and Nigeria, bringing families and communities together around one shared purpose: a more understanding and inclusive future where every child has the opportunity to shine.

OUR COMMITMENT

1

LISTEN

We listen with compassion and respect, recognising that every child, young person and family has different experiences, strengths and support needs. We listen. We understand.

2

SUPPORT

We provide a welcoming space where parents and carers can find practical guidance, emotional support, advocacy and connections with people who understand their journey.

3

INCLUDE

We promote inclusion by helping children and young people feel valued, build confidence, develop meaningful connections and participate in their communities.

4

EMPOWER

We work towards communities where children and young people with autism and special needs are understood, respected and given opportunities to grow and thrive.

EVERY CHILD DESERVES TO SHINE

Every child and young person deserves to feel valued, understood and included. Together, we can build supportive communities where children with autism and special needs are celebrated for who they are and given opportunities to grow with confidence.
